This project "365 Ways to Shoot a Doll" is meant to invoke thought, emotion and conversation. As the project moves along there will references to the abuses women and children live with and through from the hands of government, husbands, fathers etc. BUT it will also deal with the positive effects of love and respect and encouragement.
Sue Hutchen (Vancouver Artist/Author) hand stitched Dolly's new linen sundress. The stitches are delicate and the fabric soft. Many thanks Sue!
If you would like to sew a little dress for my Dolly project feel free to email me at email@example.com and I will send you the very simple pattern.
It's been quite an adventure here in the studio. My artist's tool box has changed drastically since moving to this new space. Acrylic paints are not longer a medium I'll be using. I've have become extremely sensitive to their odour and off gassing. My lungs and throat are being affected by their toxicity.
Thankfully I have other avenues to follow. I am excited by the challenge of focusing on assemblage and collage and sculpture again. My work has become more tactile and textural. I'll be using natural homemade inks and dyes to create larger installation work.
This change excites me. I'm going forward with enthusiasm and curiosity.
